Entire Wheat Date Bars


3              eggs

1 c            whole wheat flour

1 c            dark brown sugar

1/2 c          chopped dates

1/2 c          chopped walnuts

some           powdered sugar, to roll cookies



Preheat oven to 350x. Chop dates & nuts, and set aside. Beat eggs

until thick and lemon-colored. Add sugar and blend well. Add the

flour and then the dates and nuts. Bake in greased 9x11" or 9x13"

pans or baking cookie sheets for about 25 minutes. Cut into bars

about 3/4x21/2" or 1x3". Roll in powdered (1994: granulated)

sugar, cool, and store in tins.  (Marcella Whaley's recipe.)
